Your computer is sick

The other day I saw that my otherwise talkative colleague was silent. I thought she was sick, but soon found out that a virus has entered her laptop back home through a pen drive which she used to download the software. However this time it got corrupted and became malware and she was not even able to open the program. She was waiting with a long face while a I'm-gizmo-savvy-buddy of hers was re-configuring her badware. She waited praying to the computer Gods in heaven(these are the new-age substitutes of the Greek Gods) as her doctor-fix it- friend went ahead with his operation HELP. He finally succeeded and she too learnt her lesson in the process. She was going to test-drive all her software on the office computer as it had a lot of powerful antibiotic cover which could fight off most of the viruses.

From her experience, I learnt that Dr.Murphy was right with his laws;

The longer it takes to download a program the more likely it won't run.
You will get disconnected from the Internet or experience a computer crash when you are downloading. If you don't experience one within 80% completion, then it will happen at 99%. If you do manage to get the file, then it will turn out to be completely useless and/or invalid.
